Duluth Huskie vs. Brainerd

2:30pm Holy Crap the Huskies had a 1,2,,3 inning but still 8-0 lunkers end of 4 innings. This blog will end cause this game is over. Its nap time for me, and the Huskies as they decided to not show up at all in Brainerd. They will return home tomorrow.

2:15 pm Another run for the lunkers in there third inning and are up 8-0 on the Huskies. The lunkers will improver to 4-1 and the Huskies will drop to 2-3 this game is now for sure all but over. I will stick around till the end of the fourth but then I will end this "live blog" and take a nap much like the Huskies are doing during there game.

2:05pm The top of the third inning is over the Huskies leave a runner on third base, that is the furthest they have had a running in this game so far. The Huskies had left four runners on base in three innings. Need to get hits when it counts boys.

It seems as if the pitch rule only applies to starting pitchers cause dylan Vogt is out pitching his second inning of relief and he tossed more then 30 pitches in the second inning. Will have to check in to it.

Games else where in the north woods league. Many have not started yet. The only other game in progress right now is Willmar and Rochester. Willmar leads 1-0.

Other games later today Thunder Bay takes on Alexandria, St. Cloud and Mankato, Battle Creek and Wis, Eau Clair and Waterloo

Madison and Lacrosse and Green Bay vs. Wis woodchucks

2pm Another long inning for lunkers this time they only score run one increasing there lead to 7-0.

Another inning and another huskies pitcher that tossed more then 30 pitches so a third huskies pitcher will have to come out for the 3rd inning. KC Clapo has two errors for the huskies and the second error allowed the 7th run for the lunkers and in the first inning his error helped extend the inning for the lungers where they scored 6 times and maybe would have only had 3 runs with out the error.

1:40pm The huskies go down in the second inning with little fight, they did strand one runner at first.

1:37 pm A long first inning is over. The huskies sent five men to the plate, however the lunkers sent 11 men to the plate scoring 6 runs on 7 hits and two walks along with a huskies error. Tylor Blomberg from UMD will only be allowed to pitch one inning as he tossed 42 pitches in the first and by rule is done for the game. If you throw 30 or more pitches in one inning you need to be taken out at the start of the next inning This is why you don't get local people for the most part. Especially from a very very weak college baseball program like UMD. This game is all but over but will continue to give up dates. Again the Lunkers lead 6-0 at the end of 1 inning of play.

The updates will not very long unless something happens.

1:10pm The Huskies got two singles in there top of the first inning but could not score. 2 hits no runs Brian Hanson got one of the two singles. The Huskies sent five men to the plate in the inning. The lunkers are coming to bat. The Huskies will start UMD's Tyler Blomberg.

1;05 pm Game is just about to start. The Huskies are 2-2 on the season and the Lunkers are 3-1 on the season. Hoping this game will be a better game, again the Duluth Huskies lost 10-4 last night to Brainerd. The lunkers commented 3 errors and still won the game.

Working on the blog.

I have changed the template of the blog and added a few things more to come soon. Keep checking back and don't forget about the "live" blog of todays game, that will start in about 10 minutes.

Huskies drop to .500

The Duluth Huskies won there first two home games. The first two road games where not as kind to the Huskies. They have lost a pair of games to drop to 2-2 on the season. The first game was against St. Cloud and was the river bats home opener. The Huskies where looking for a three game sweep of the river bats but fell short losing 4-2. I did not get a chance to listen to much of that game because of work. I did get the last couple innings but it was not a good night for our team as the river bats pounded out the hits.

The second game the team hit the road and traveled to Brainerd where they got crusted 10-4, and the Lunkers had 3 errors another rough night for our guys. It is hard to win a game when a team comments three errors but Brainerd did it. Again cause of work I was not able to caught the game.

The Huskies return home and look to continue there winning ways at home Monday, and will finish up with the lunkers at 1pm Sunday.

Huskies are 2-0 early on in season.

The Duluth Huskies are 2-0 on the early season. The home opening series was good for our Huskies as they took on the St.cloud river bats Wednesday and Thursday night at Wade Stadium. The Huskies won both of the games and will now travel to St.Cloud to play one game there tonight, as they look for the sweep and move to 3-0 on the season.

Wednesday night the Huskies won 3-1 getting all three runs in one inning (4th I believe) if I remember correctly. The river bats scored there only run in the top of the 9th inning. Thursdays game was a bit more interesting, the huskies won 6-5 but it is how they won.

The game started with the Huskies taking a 1-0 lead at the end of one inning, however they got the run with out any hits in the inning. The lead of man was walked, then stoled second and the throw went into center field allowing him to move to third, well a play cam in to third the fielder lost the ball and the huskies runner scored. There where two errors by the river bats on that one play and they had four in the game.

With the four errors by the bats one would think that the Huskies should have won easy, well it did not happen that way. Huskies pitcher was cruising along then came the fourth inning. The river bats started hitting and got four runs that inning to take the lead. The huskies battled back all game and tied it with walks and hits in the 9th inning then the bases where loaded and huskies batter was hit by a pitch to walk in the winning run.

I must say I am pleased to this point by the huskies they found a way to win Thursday and that is what good teams do. Well the bats were slow only in the game they still plugged away and worked on the game. One person said to me at the game last night that the huskies need to start hitting. They will and when they do this team will be a great team I feel.

Welcome to the Duluth Huskies fan page blog.

Hello and welcome to the Duluth Huskies fan page blog. I will blog about the team as I see them, I will be honest in how I feel about the team and will hold nothing back. If I think they are playing well I will praise them if they are playing bad I will let you know. This maybe a blog you either love or love to hate but either way I hope you come back and check it out lol. You can comment on any post but the comments will need to be approved before they are posted to the blog by the moderator of this blog.

I don't get to every game but I do listen to or watch every home and away game. If I could afford it I would buy season tickets but some personal things prevent me from doing this, that said season tickets are reasonable if anyone is interested in them. In fact every seat is reasonable, general admissions is six dollars well re severed seating is seven dollars and the kennel club (all you can eat and drink) is twenty seven dollars.

I have been a huskies fan from day one and will continue to be. The team has new owners this year. Last year was the first year the team did not make money in its eight years of being in Duluth. As many remember it was a tough summer last year for the team and weather was not that great either. There where rumors that Bobby was looking at selling the team so he could be closer to his business in Florida. Just before the season started the Huskies made it official that there are new owners and they are local Duluth business men. I think it is great the team has found local owners, that said I hope they don't turn the team in to a local group of players. Well I like some local players we need people from big collages to be competitive. This years team looks good.

Get out and enjoy the Duluth Huskies this summer!
